Is there a way edit a post
Is there a way edit a post
Hi there HT,
I made a post in the main forum earliar but after i did so i wanted to edit the layout of my photos and add some more text but i can't see a edit post button, most forums have this option - is it there and i just can't see it?
Thank you in advance.

Edit button is on the right hand side in your post Kev

It should be located top right hand side of the post, next to the quote button

Just to check, is this resolved? or does the edit button not appear? I've tested your permissions and you should have the ability to edit your own posts...
Re: Is there a way edit a post
my edit button is also not there, and the quote feature is also missing

Try a forced refresh Dim, Ctrl + F5 or change to the Light version of the theme in User Control Panel> Board Preferences.Dim wrote:mine is still missing (edit and quote)

Re: Is there a way edit a post
Just for a bit more information for those who may be interested
The problem was the due to user_lang not being set on the user records. This hasn't come up before as the old theme didn't use this feature (allowing multiple languages which the new theme does) and used hard coded images for all of the buttons.
The register area never needed to fill this in when adding in users, so didn't set it. Those people that had then gone in and changed settings at some point 'updated' their language to en from blank (as its the only option) which allowed the edit button to work. Those who hadn't changed any settings didn't see anything.
So I've set everyone's user_lang to en and updated the register area for all future users.
I've now also cleared the forums cache of pre-compiled files so everyone should now have all of the buttons.
Switching theme only works because you haven't requested the files before so get a completely new set, which is the same as ctrl + F5 on the current theme.
